Urban Legends City Quest
Frequently Asked Questions – Walking Tour Amsterdam
Do I need to book in advance?
Yes, reservations are required. According to the rules of the municipality of Amsterdam, guides are not allowed to gather spontaneous groups on the street. By booking in advance, you ensure yourself a spot and we adhere to the city's policy.
How do I recognize the guide?
Our guide will be at the agreed meeting point on the Magere Brug, 10 minutes before the start of your walking tour. You will recognize the guide by a canvas bag or an umbrella with the Urban Legends City Quest logo on it.
Who are your guides?
Our guides are locals with work experience in iconic museums - such as the Anne Frank House - and in education. They have a passion for urban legends and a keen curiosity for the hidden histories behind these stories. We believe that discovering the city should also be a fun and playful experience. In short, you will not just get a tour, but an engaging interactive experience from a real expert with a passion for stories!
Where does the tour end?
The walking tour ends in the Jordaan area, near the Elandsgracht – a perfect place to continue your journey of discovery through Amsterdam or to dive into a traditional Dutch brown café.
Will the tour be cancelled if it rains?
Yes, rain or shine, we're going out on an adventure! Only in extreme weather conditions (storm or code orange/red) the tour will be cancelled. In that case we will contact you at least one day in advance.
In which languages is the walking tour of Amsterdam offered?
Our Amsterdam city walk is available in Dutch and English. You can indicate your preference during the booking process.
What makes this urban legends tour unique?
In addition to exciting stories at historical locations, you will play an Urban Legend Bingo along the way and taste a sweet, typical Amsterdam snack. Our guides bring 750 years of history to life with a playful twist!
Is the tour suitable for children?
Our standard tour is suitable for children aged 15 and up. There are some mysterious or exciting stories, but nothing that will scare you too much. Looking for a child-friendly tour? With a private tour we can tailor the stories fully to your group's needs.
How many people are in a group?
We deliberately keep our groups small: a maximum of 12 participants per tour. This keeps the experience personal and interactive.
